I was beyond excited about the results of the 2011 Miss Universe Pageant! I am so proud of Leila Lopes. There has not been a black Miss Universe in the past 10 years and maybe even in history; Don't quote me though because I haven't done any research. Regardless Leila Lopes looked absolutely beautiful in her cream gown, and she spoke so elegantly. She deserves her crown and I know she will hold the title well.
The annual Miss Universe pageant was held in Sao Paulo on Sunday night, and Miss Angola, 25-year-old Leila Lopes, took the crown after impressing judges with her striking cream-colored gown and insightful answer to the final question. Lopes is the first winner the pageant has ever selected from her country. After she beat 88 other competitors from around the world, she was crowned by last year’s winner, Ximena Navarrete, from Mexico.
